As a leading state-owned enterprise, CSCEC has never been forgetting the socialresponsibility it assumes, it operates in accordance with the norm of serving the society, and actively fulfills the missions that the nation and society have endowed with, participates in the campaigns of poverty-alleviation.
While leaping forward on the track of fast development, CSCEC hasnever been forgetting to pay attention to the poor areas and take care of the advantaged people. It launches campaigns of anti-poverty at designated areas, donates actively money and materials. To overcome the shortage of drinking water in tern areas of China, CSCEC helped people dig up ultra-deep wells at geologically complicated Yanchi Area in Ningxia Hui Autonomous region.

To improve the difficult situation of medical treatment at the farms of construction corps in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, CSCEC helped build up, at its own cost, the Hospital of Pishan Farm.On Aug. 3 money-contributing ceremony for “Recovery Building of CSCECPishan Farm Hospital” and CSCEC Poverty-Alleviation Fund” was held at the camp of Division 14 of construction corps in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. To help further the poor amilies of Division 14 solve the problems of schooling, medical treatment and hard living, CSCEC decided that China Overseas would support the construction of “Recovery Building of CSCEC Pishan Farm Hospital” by donating RMB 1.3674 Million and 160 hospital beds, and CSCEC Ltd., jointed by China State Construction International Co. Ltd, would donate again RMB 500,000 for “CSCEC Poverty-Alleviation Fund”.

The preliminary statistics shows that by July 31, 2007, all companies affiliated to CSCEC re-donated about RMB700,000 to the designated areas in Ningxia Hui Autonomous region, and about RMB270,000 to the people in flood-hit areas in response to the calls of the government and Chinese Red Cross.

The hope lies in education, and the hope will come true in future. Having deep love for the children, the CSCEC’s staff are much concerned about the growth of the next generation. The Hope Primary School at Shaoshan of Hunan Province, the Hope Primary School at Sanquan of Shaanxi Province, theHope Primary School at Chongyang of Hubei Province, the Hope Primary School at Kangxian of Gansu Province, the Hope Primary School at Qinglong of Qinghai Province and any other places across the nation, a great many Hope Primary Schools light up the ideal flame with which a great number of children in poverty are pursuing the knowledge. “The Love Foundation” and “The Special Anti-Poverty Funds” are making it possible for the students in hardship to dream to study in versities. China Overseas, China State Construction International Co. Ltd, CSCEC-Taisei, Northwestern Architectural Design Institute of CSCEC And Southwestern itectural Design Institute of CSCEC all built up their own supported schools. They hold the activity to finance the schools once a year and the minimum donated amount to each school will not be less than one hundred thousand Yuan.

An enterprise with a long history has definitely left some problems to clear up. Facing the affiliated companies which are in hard situation, CSCEC, while dealing actively with the difficulties by both “injecting blood” and “creating blood”, does not abandon those companies, tries all means to make harmonious development in allrespects. As for the low-income staffs, CSCEC helps them out of hard situation by visiting thousands of families, collecting the information of thousands of families, extricating thousands of families from difficulties, warming the hearts of thousands of staffs. CSCEC gives hies and all possible support to those staffs so that they can begin to live in a new circumstance. By Aug. 17, 2007, to ensure every student who, from fficult families, were enrolled by the above-training-school colleges and universities tostudy timely, CSCEC started to use for the fifth time the Degree 3 pecial fund for Poverty-Alleviation to subsidize each student with a lump-sum amount. In accordance with the statistics, 317 students received the subsidization totaling about 590,000 Yuan （ CSCEC also use special fund for Poverty-Alleviation to subsidize another 52 students a lump-sum of 3000 Yuan for each udent whose parents are working in some affiliated companies).
