Dec.10, 2007, China China State Construction Engg. Corp. Ltd.(China Construction in short) was formally established, co-initiated by four member enterprises: China State Construction Engineering Corp.(CSCEC), China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Baosteel group corp.ltd. and Sinochem Corporation.

2007, CSCEC was awarded the title of Excellent Achievements Enterprise for the first tenure (2004-2006). It is the only enterprise in Chinas building sector that has been appraised as Class A enterprise in 3 consecutive years by the SAAC.

2006, CSCEC was successfully selected one of the 500 top global enterprises, ranked 486th.

November 30, 2004, CSCEC was listed among the 49 state-owned central enterprises publicized by SAAC.

2003, as one of the first 20 state-owned central enterprises, the principal of CSCEC had signed the Achievement Goals for Central Enterprises Principals with SASAC.

End of 1999, the Party Central Committee made a decision by No.18 notice that 163 state-owned enterprises originally managed by the State council be transferred to the control of the CCP, which established an Administration Committee to directly supervise the leaders of these enterprises. The 163 enterprises had been divided into two administrative levels, 39 backbone enterprises forms level one and their leaders have to be approved by the Party Central Committee before they are appointed by the State Council. And CSCEC was among the 39 backbone enterprises.

1999, CSCEC took over 6 enterprises from the Ministry of Construction. They are: China Foreign Construction Corp., China Foreign Gardens Construction Co., China Construction Mechanics, Fanhua Construction Co., Zhonglian Zhongke Co., China Building Science Co.;

August 4-7,  China Overseas Holding Ltd. (Hong Kong), a subsidiary of CSCEC, went public in Hong Kongs stock market based on an achievement of 7 consecutive profitable years. Under the local stock market rules, the company put on sale 820 million shares (25% of the total), at a price of 1.03 Hong Kong dollars per share. Warrants are included as part of new-issue offering. A total amount of 845 million Hong Kong dollars had been raised.

Feb.4, 1991, CSCEC determined that its staff should adorn company badges and signs, and that CI symbols printed and displayed on all equipment, projects, camps and stationeries. The sign and badges are square in shape as a symbol of foundation, with a blue color underlay that represents blue sky and oceans and the tower-shaped letters CSCECon the top, which is the abbreviation of China State Construction Engineering Corp.;

Feb.6,1988, the State Council determined that all mega-enterprises be under the management of related Ministries, and CSCEC went to the control of the Ministry of Construction.

November 3, 1982, State Council issued a notice that CSCEC should be raised to the level directly under the management of the State Council itself.June 11, 1982, the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environment Protection issued a notice of “Establishment of China State Construction Engineering Corporation”. This nation-wide mega-enterprise was an independent legal body that enjoyed self-determination right of business operation. It took over as its branches and subsidiaries the following units: the first construction bureau, the second construction bureau, the third construction bureau, the fourth construction bureau, the fifth construction bureau, the sixth construction bureau, the Northeast, Northwest and Southwest Architecture Design Institutes, the Southwest Comprehensive Surveying Institute, the Equipment and Fittings Import & Export Co., and Tianjing Material and Fittings Company, that were originally under the direct control of the State Council.
